Delaware EDucational Training Day

Join The Alliance's Mid-Atlantic Affiliate on Friday, September 19th from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST for a full day event that brings together experts from diverse fields in the treatment of eating disorders.


The training focuses on topics including:

  • GLP-1 medications
  • Ethical considerations for the treatment of youth
  • Treatment of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
  • The intersection of chronic medical conditions with body image and eating disorders.

The training day will encompass four workshops with continuing education opportunities for psychologists, master's level licensed clinicians, social workers, and registered dietitians/nutritionists. The training is also open to students, recent graduates, and medical practitioners who are wanting to learn more and expand their skill set. Attendees will be eligible to receive up to 6.0 CE hours. About The Alliance's Mid-Atlantic Affiliate

The Alliance Mid-Atlantic Affiliate was founded in April 2019 by Co-Chairs Deanna Speir and Sharon Wise to bring resources, education, awareness, and support to the Delaware, New Jersey, and Maryland areas. Since it’s inception, the Affiliate has successfully hosted the Delaware EDucational Training Day, organized several fundraising events including a NOT ONE MORE walk and annual Barn Bash, and hosts a free, therapist-led pro-recovery support group for individuals experiencing eating disorders.
