Giulia Suro, Ph.D., CEDS (she/her/hers) is the Director of Research and Clinical Outcomes for Monte Nido. In this role, she directs the day-to-day operations of a nation-wide, IRB-approved research program in capturing the treatment outcomes of women and men diagnosed with range of eating disorder diagnoses across all levels of care. As a member of the broader research program, she helps translate this data to meaningful findings that may inform treatment and improve the field of eating disorders. Prior to this position, she served as a Postdoctoral Resident, Primary Therapist and Clinical Director and Oliver Pyatt Centers. She is also a passionate student and practitioner of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and published an ACT workbook titled “Learning to Thrive” in 2019.

Leslie Tucci, RD, LDN, is the Lead Dietitian at ViaMar Health, a primary Eating Disorders treatment center in West Palm Beach, where she has spent the past 2.5 years working with adult patients at the residential level of care. She is a Certified ARFID specialist and is currently pursuing her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification. Leslie worked as a field biologist for many years in the US and abroad before settling in Florida, and her personal interest in nutrition and Health At Every Size led her to earning her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition. She is passionate about providing weight-inclusive nutrition care for individuals and enjoys sharing that passion with the dietetic interns she mentors. In her free time, she enjoys birdwatching and exploring the outdoors.

Dr. Wendy Oliver-Pyatt is a world-leading expert on treating eating disorders. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, she has developed four separate treatment programs, all grounded on a strong bio-psycho-social foundation, and incorporating intensive psychotherapy, with behavioral foundations, and high medical standards. Wendy has developed a unique treatment approach that delves into the underlying issues that place a person at risk for mental health conditions and eating disorders and lead to healing, health and inner peace.
Wendy received her specialty training at New York University-Bellevue Hospital in New York City, she has also held faculty positions at New York University, Albert Einstein School of Medicine and University of Nevada School of Medicine. Wendy is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in both Adult and Addiction Psychiatry. She is the author of two books, most recently Questions and Answers on Binge Eating Disorder, A Guide for Clinicians. She is a Fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. She has received Senatorial Recognition for her commitment to the mental health treatment community.

Jamie Atkins-Huerta RD, CEDS-C, (she/her/hers) is the Director of Nutrition and Wellness, for
the residential level of care at Center for Discovery and has a private practice, where she utilizes
a non-diet and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) informed approach combining both nutrition
and psychology. Jamie received her Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and dietetics from
California State University of Long Beach, with a minor in psychology and completed her
dietetic internship with Oakwood University. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and
Consultant (CEDS-C), and a certified Be Body Positive Facilitator.
Jamie is most passionate about supporting people on their journey to finding their authentic
selves whether it be patients or clinicians seeking supervision. She has worked in the eating
disorder field since 2007 with experience working at all levels of care. Jamie is dedicated to
creating an inclusive space for all folx and putting an end to weight stigma. She speaks publicly
at the national and international level on weight inclusivity & challenging weight normative
approaches, as well as other various topics related to eating disorders, with an emphasis on the
therapeutic side of food. Jamie believes the most important step in helping someone improve
their relationship with food, mind, and body is meeting them where they are, and helping them
build a life they can see for themselves.

Dr. Jessie Menzel is the Vice President of Program Development for Equip Health. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and a former associate clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of California, San Diego, where she founded the Pediatric Eating Disorder Program at the UCSD Eating Disorder Center for Treatment and Research. Dr. Menzel has over 15 years of clinical and research experience in the field of eating disorders and has worked with individuals of all ages and across all levels of care.

As the Director of Clinical Integrity at Monte Nido and Affiliates, Kate is focused on developing clinical programming and providing training and supervision to ensure that clients receive the highest quality treatments. Kate completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Clinical Internship at the New Jersey VA Healthcare System, and Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Eating and Weight Disorders Program at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She has treated adolescents and adults with eating disorders since 2008 and has been developing specialized binge eating disorder programming since 2016.

Amy Boyers, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and co-founder and president of Galen Hope, which provides mental health, eating disorder, and dual diagnosis treatment for adults and teens in Coral Gables, Florida. Galen Hope emphasizes community integration, support for families, and building a sense of connection and belonging as essential to healing.
Dr. Boyers has been in private practice in Miami since 2001, where she provides therapy to adolescents and adults, with a focus on women’s health, eating disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, and behavioral medicine.
After graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, she was awarded a prestigious U.S. Department of Defense psychological research fellowship at the University of Miami, where she completed her masters and doctoral degrees. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Miami Counseling Center, and a post-doctoral residency at the Renfrew Center, where she was a primary therapist in their intensive outpatient program for eating disorders. During a second residency at University of Miami, she served as the primary therapist on an NCI-funded research project studying cognitive-behavioral stress management and relaxation training for breast cancer survivors.
Dr. Boyers is volunteer faculty at the University of Miami Counseling Center and University of Miami Miller School of Medicine-Department of Psychiatry and has spoken locally and nationally on the topics of eating disorders, stress, trauma, and adolescent development. She has also co-authored several articles in professional journals. She was the founding president of the Miami Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) and served on the national board.

Dr. Costa is a licensed marriage and family therapist in San Diego, California, and is the vice president of clinical operations for Center for Discovery (CFD). Dr. Costa has worked at CFD since 2014, and was previously the vice president of operations for the West Coast division. She brings a wealth of clinical experience to operations in order to help elevate Discovery Behavioral Health, the parent company of CFD, to a level of excellence in the mental health field. In her newest role at CFD, Dr. Costa is working to improve clinical programming; ensuring the division continues to use the best in evidence-based treatment modalities; and supporting the training and growth of the clinical team. She is also a member of the REDC as well as a member of iaedp as a certified eating disorder specialist and supervisor. Before coming to CFD, Dr. Costa began her career in the eating disorder field in 2004, first as a residence counselor at the Klarman Center at Mclean Hospital. Dr. Costa worked as a therapist in a variety of settings throughout California, with experience in residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and private practice treatment programs. Dr. Costa has received advanced training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and group therapy. Dr. Costa's areas of concentration have been in treating eating disorders, self-injurious behaviors, mood disorders, and other co-occurring issues in both adults and adolescents. She has hosted numerous CE events that have focused on DBT, trauma, burnout, dietary/clinical treatment of eating disorders, and the connection between eating disorders and substance use disorders.
Dr. Costa is a graduate of Endicott College in psychology and went on to earn additional degrees in marriage and family therapy. Dr. Costa received her master's and doctorate degrees from Alliant International University. She says that even as a teenager, going into a career like psychology felt like a calling. Dr. Costa has experienced a sense of community and support as she has ventured down this career path. When she got her first job in the field, she says she felt immediately passionate about supporting individuals struggling with eating and mental health disorders. Dr. Costa finds that the work constantly motivates her to discover effective ways to help patients receive real-life recovery. When Dr. Costa is not trying to help change lives for the better, you can find her enjoying he arts, music, movies and food, as well as staying connected to her Portuguese culture and heritage.
