President and Co-founder of Galen Hope
Dr. Amy Boyers is the founder and president of Galen Hope, which provides mental health, eating disorder, and dual diagnosis treatment for adults and teens in Coral Gables, Florida. Galen Hope emphasizes community integration, support for families, and building a sense of connection and belonging as essential to healing.
Dr. Boyers has been in private practice in Miami since 2001, where she provides therapy to adolescents and adults, with a focus on women’s health, eating disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, and behavioral medicine.
After graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, she was awarded a prestigious U.S. Department of Defense psychological research fellowship at the University of Miami, where she completed her masters and doctoral degrees. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Miami Counseling Center, and a post-doctoral residency at the Renfrew Center, where she was a primary therapist in their intensive outpatient program for eating disorders. During a second residency at University of Miami, she served as the primary therapist on an NCI-funded research project studying cognitive-behavioral stress management and relaxation training for breast cancer survivors.
Dr. Boyers is adjunct faculty at the University of Miami Counseling Center and has spoken locally and nationally on the topics of eating disorders, stress, trauma, and adolescent development. She has also co-authored several articles in professional journals. She was the founding president of the Miami Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) and served on the national board.

Lisa is the Lead Registered Dietitian for Alsana in Monterey, California. She completed her Masters of Science in Dietetics from New Mexico State University. While Lisa worked as a Dietetic Assistant in the field of eating disorders, she discovered her passion for helping individuals heal their relationships with food and their bodies. In addition to her work at Alsana, Lisa maintains a private practice specializing in eating disorders, disordered eating, and general nutrition.

Medical Director, Laureate Eating Disorders Program
Scott E. Moseman, MD, CEDS-S serves as medical director of the Laureate Eating Disorders Program and investigator for the Laureate Institute for Brain Research. He is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist who received his fellowship training at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, where he served as chief fellow. Dr. Moseman has spoken internationally and throughout the country on topics related to eating disorders and child psychiatry. He has specific interests in eating, mood and anxiety disorders. Currently, Dr. Moseman collaborates with teams at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research conducting body image and eating disorder research.

As the Director of Clinical Services at Alsana Clara, Carissa believes healing happens in community. Before joining Alsana, Carissa was a residential counselor and primary therapist at several eating disorder treatment centers. Carissa graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and the University of Massachusetts-Boston with a Master of Science in Family Therapy.

Kathryn Burrola, MA, LMFT
Director of Clinical Services, Alsana
Kathy serves as the Director of Clinical Services and the Clinical Supervisor at Alsana Libertas Residential.
She has worked as a Clinical Director for a non-profit organization focused on comprehensive Behavioral Health Programs. She also served as a therapist and program administrator for youth in the foster care and the probation systems.
Kathy helped create a school-based mental health program for middle and high schools in California, has served as an Associate Professor at Cal State East Bay, and has maintained a private practice for several years.
